GUtech CS Department

I am a professor in the Department of Computer Science of the German University of Technology in Oman (GUtech).

I joined GUtech in 2011 after seven years in Shanghai, four years in Hong Kong, one year in Waterloo, and many years in Saarbrücken (see my CV for details). I usually teach Data Structures, Efficient Algorithms, and Theory of Computing.

My research interests include data structures and efficient algorithms, in a broad sense. Recently, I have been working on online and approximation algorithms, computational geometry, fixed parameter tractability, and education research.

In my previous job at Fudan University I used to supervise a large group of Master's and PhD students, but GUtech does not have a graduate program yet. I also train students in the GUtech ACM Programming Team.
